Update to Dapper

Postby sivlardemalle » Wed Mar 15, 2006 6:04 pm

Has anybody the nerve to upgrade to Dapper? I would like to try it, but my Linux skills aren't too fantastic :-).

Has anyone tried it?

Also, I have some complaints about some of my keyboard key's. For example, somtimes the 's' and 'm' don't work. Has anyone else experienced similar problems?

Greetings,
Rob.

I tried updating, and wireless and sound (internal speakers) work out of the box now. I did have problems starting X after the update, but installing the fgrlx driver fixed that problem.

I am pretty new to Linux so I may have just made a silly error, but i tried installing Dapper and the screen blanked.
It was fine up to the point when the desktop should load and then the screen went blank.
the funny thing was, I got it to shut down and the screen came back up.
help?

Try to install the graphics driver that I mention, by entering alt-f2 and going to command-line mode. (you find general directions on this on the ubuntu forums :-)

Huggs!
