hi,
is it possible to boot from a usb harddrive?
Gentoo Linux 2.6.18
Targa 826T
Problems remaining:
No DVB-T,
Sound of Analog TV
Working: 3D in HW, WiFi,
Multimedia-Keys, ...

The short answer to your question is yes. I installed grub at the quickmedia partition (hda2 ?) to get the boot menu from the quickmedia button. I followed the instructions from the ubuntu forum:

Maybe little complicated, but works fine.
